Winter musical auditions usually happen right after Thanksgiving break. Details on the actual auditions will be on the show page. They ALWAYS involve a singing audition- and you might need to choose a song for that, though sometimes we tell you what you need to sing . They sometimes involve an acting audition and dance audition as well EVERYONE who successfully completes all of the audition requirements for the musical will get a part in the show. We try to giving speaking parts and featured singing roles to as many people as possible.
Completing your audition also means completing the online audition packet and printing and bringing a signed audition form to your audition. We cannot and will not cast you without your signed form!
7th and 8th graders who are interested in being considered for a larger role should attend optional callbacks. This is an OPTIONAL audition, not open to 6th graders, that shows the directors that you are serious about drama and gives them a chance to see something else you can do.
In general, 6th graders are typically cast in ensemble roles where they can learn about being in a production; 7th graders are typically cast in supporting or ensemble roles to continue building performance skills; the main roles are typically reserved for 8th graders who have a history of commitment to drama (including auditioning for plays at Bigelow, attending drama events and conducting themselves in a respectful and responsible manner in all drama productions). THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE FOR ANY 8TH GRADER.
