Script - read a few pages and pick something from the script to design! Here are some examples of student designs from past show auditions. Some of them we don't have examples of yet- you could be first! Lighting Designs Draw or describe the lighting for a scene/song in the show. Show us your thought process- why this kind of focus/color/direction/ etc? Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 Grade 6 Grade 7 Stage Management Show us you are organized and responsible. An organized binder, assignment book, letter of reference from an adult, etc. Stage Blocking Organized binder Cue Sheet Letter of recommendation Cues in script Set Designs Build or draw a sample set for a moment in the show. Show us your thought process- why this kind of wood/paint/etc? Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 Grade 6 Grade 7. Grade 8 Sound Designs Create a playlist of songs or sound effects for a character or environment in the show. Show us your thought process- why this kind of song/sound/etc? Grade 6 Grade 8 Grade 8 You can look at these if you want to and you may absolutely create a costume, poster, shirt, or prop design! Just know that THERE ARE NO COSTUME AND MAKEUP, POSTER/SHIRT, or PROPS after school this year. -Costumes and makeup crew will be determined from costume design class. -Building props, posters, and shirts will happen in technical theatre class. Poster and Shirt Designs Draw a sample poster for the show. Show us your thought process- why this imagery, font, etc? Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 Grade 6 Grade 8 Props Designs Build or draw a sample prop for a moment in the show. Show us your thought process- why this kind of wood/paint/etc? Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 Grade 6 Grade 8 Grade 6 Costume Designs Draw, collage, or sew a sample costume for a character in the show! Show us your thought process- why this kind of fabric/bowtie/hat? Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 Makeup Designs Draw, collage or photograph a sample look for a character in the show! Show us your thought process- why this kind of hairstyle/eyeliner/lip color/face paint/etc? Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 |
