Plot:
Ghostlight is set in a high school. When indifferent student Garbiela Nettles is inexplicably admitted to the prestigious Doves Forge Academy, all she wants to do is leave. But before she can get herself expelled, Garbiela starts to hear sounds that no one else hears, ghost echoes from the remnants of a long-ago tragedy in the school's theatre. As she investigates the sounds (by joining the disastrous play in progress) Garbiela uncovers a story that's both surprising and surprisingly moving. |
Fall play acting auditions are held on 2 days: Monday September 19 and Tuesday September 20, from 2:45-5pm. You only have to attend one audition day.
Fall play tech auditions are: Thursday September 22, from 2:45-5pm. Looking for crew information?
STEP 1) Fill out Sign Up Form
STEP 2) Choose AND prepare a monologue OR tech design
STEP 3) Print and have parent/guardian sign permission slip
COME TO ACTING AUDITIONS on MONDAY or TUESDAY! or COME TO TECH AUDITIONS on THURSDAY!
Only a few 6th graders get into the fall play, but we make sure that everyone has fun at the auditions! See the monologue page for more information on choosing and preparing a monologue - BUT HERE'S THE GOOD PART: you DON'T have to memorize it! If you don't get in, don't worry- everyone gets into the next show, our spring musical! But come audition for the fall play- you'll have fun, and it's good practice in making auditioning less scary!
The 7th/8th grade auditions are sometimes held the previous spring, and sometimes held early in the fall. 7th/8th graders almost always are asked to prepare a monologue. See the monologue page for more information on choosing and preparing a monologue.
In general, 6th graders are typically cast in ensemble roles where they can learn about being in a production; 7th graders are typically cast in supporting or ensemble roles to continue building performance skills; the main roles are typically reserved for 8th graders who have a history of commitment to drama (including auditioning for plays at Bigelow, attending drama events and conducting themselves in a respectful and responsible manner in all drama productions). THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE FOR ANY 8TH GRADER.
